STELLA 12-string Guitars

A1100 Deluxe Stella Jumbo 12-string Guitar, Circa 1930 ...Unbelievably rare!!  Stella 12-string guitars of this caliber hardly ever appear on the market. This one is in excellent condition. High-end Stella jumbos are considered by many 12-string aficionados to be the ultimate 12-strings. In other words...the Holy Grail of 12-string guitars! In general, our instrument is the same jumbo-sized, 26.5" scale Stella 12-string guitar that was made for Lead Belly at the Oscar Schmidt factory by Fulvio Pardini in 1936. However, this particular instrument is the much fancier deluxe model, with fancy shaped inlaid mother-of-pearl position markers instead of simple dots It also has a bound neck and headstock and a pin-style ebony bridge! Labeled "A. Galiano", this guitar was custom ordered by and was sold through John D'Angelico's great uncle, Raphael Ciani's shop in Manhattan. It has recently been carefully gone over from "stem to stern" by our luthier, Mike Hauver. She's had a neck reset, several hairline top cracks repaired, new frets installed and leveled, new bridge plate, two graphite rods installed beneath the original fingerboard. In all respects, this guitar has been primped and babied so as to be a 12-string blues player's ultimate "dream machine"! No refin, no over-spray. The bridge is a faithful ebony copy of the damaged original bridge, and the bridge pins are new custom ordered bone pins with abalone dot and vintage finish. Cosmetically, she is as prim and proper as when she left the Oscar Schmidt factory on Ferry Street in Jersey City, circa 1930. Close grain Adirondack spruce top, mahogany sides and back, ebony fingerboard and bridge. New "TKL Elite" hard-shell case. This is a chance of a lifetime! In years to come this instrument will be worth many times our very reasonable price.  $12,000     MP3
