A1143 1963 Gibson B45-12N ....Definitely one of the
best Gibson 12-strings we have played! 1963 was only the third year
that the B45-12 was offered and the first year it was offered with
an optional natural finish top. This is an especially rare and
desirable model for several reasons. The number one reason is the
fact that it is equipped with a fixed pin bridge (as opposed to the
more commonly used tailpiece set up). Also, unlike the B45-12's
produced in the mid to late 1960s, it has an extra light bracing pattern
only in use for the first several years the B45-12 was
produced! As a result of the combination of bridge and light bracing,
this is an exceptionally responsive guitar. This is the
Gibson 12-string
configuration favored by Leo Kottke and Gordon Lightfoot on
their early recordings. Unfortunately, not many of these were made and
even fewer have
survived - especially in the excellent condition this one is in!
The original finish has only a few small dings, there
are no cracks, very little playing wear. Action is superb, too! In the realm of classic large bodied
1960s Gibson 12-strings, they just don't get any
better than this one. Comes with a new hard-shell case.
