A1095 Sterling Grand Concert Guitar, 1920s ...Sterling was a Tonk Brothers brand name. Our example has a 14 3/4" lower bout,  25" scale. Radiused fingerboard is 1 13/16" wide at the nut. Crack-free body has a red spruce top, sides and back are birch. Bound front and back. Top shows signs of having been refinished long ago, sides and back have original finish. "Sterling" crest in barely visible in center of headstock. New nut, pyramid bridge and pickguard. Slight bulge behind bridge typical of these instruments.
